Nikolai Fedorovich Filippov was born in 1885 in the village of Makaryevo, Lyskovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod province. In 1937, during the time of persecution, he was the elder of the church in his native village. On September 13, 1937, he was arrested, rejecting all accusations. On November 11, 1937, he was sentenced to death and executed.
