Saint Nicholas was born on April 20, 1875, in the village of Mavrino, Moscow province, in the family of a church servant. He graduated from the Zayikonospasskoye Theological School and served as a psalmist in various churches. In 1921, he was ordained as a deacon, and in 1933 — as a priest. He served in the Borisoglebsky Church in the Podolsk district.
Father Nicholas was arrested on January 24, 1938. During interrogations, he confirmed his connections with the arrested priest Agafonikov and shared his views on the Soviet authority. On February 19, 1938, he was sentenced to death and executed on February 26 at the Butovo firing range, buried in an unknown common grave.
