Martyr Nikita was born in 1876 in the village of Pochinki of the Egoryevsky district of the Ryazan province into a peasant family. He worked as a weaver and actively participated in the church community, including the opening of a church in Orekhovo-Zuyevo. Nikita was arrested for counter-revolutionary activities, although he did not admit his guilt, asserting that he was not engaged in anti-Soviet agitation. During the investigation, he expressed dissatisfaction with the impossibility of opening a church, referring to the Constitution of the USSR, which guarantees freedom of religion. In 1941, due to the advance of the Germans, the investigation was suspended, but Nikita remained in prison, where he underwent torturous interrogations. He was sentenced to five years of exile but was not released. Nikita Sukhaev passed away on July 4, 1942, in the Omsk prison and was buried in an unmarked grave.
