Saint Neophytos of Vatopaidi

Our venerable father Neophytus shone in the Vatopedi monastery. He fell seriously ill while at the metochion, and, turning to the Mother of God in prayer, he received healing with a promise of another year to prepare for his departure from life. After a year had passed, preparing for the reception of the holy Mysteries of Christ, he again heard from the icon of the Mother of God that the time of his departure had come, which was fulfilled after he received communion, when he peacefully departed to the Lord.
