Mirax of Egypt
Martyr
Saint Martyr Mirax, originally from Egypt, was raised in the Christian faith. Succumbing to temptation, he renounced Christ and became a Muslim, for which he received honor from the Amir. However, his parents, praying for his return, managed to have him repent and publicly profess his faith again. Encouraged by his parents' prayers, Mirax went to the Amir and publicly confessed Christ, for which he was arrested and subjected to torture. After several days of torment, he was sentenced to death and beheaded. His honorable head was found by Christians and placed in a silver reliquary, from which it emits myrrh and heals the faithful.
