Saint Militsa was born on November 23, 1891, in the village of Ulinovka, Poltava province. She received her education at a gymnasium. In the early 1930s, she settled in the city of Istra. She lived alone and was close to the nuns. She served God and was deeply religious. On January 22, 1938, she was arrested and imprisoned in Butyrka prison. During the investigation, she denied the charges of counter-revolutionary agitation. On January 26, the NKVD troika sentenced her to death. Militsa Ivanovna was executed on February 5, 1938, and buried in an unmarked grave at the Butovo shooting range near Moscow.
