Saint Michael was born on November 19, 1869, in the village of Bulygino, Zaraysk district, Ryazan province. In 1890, he graduated from the Ryazan Theological Seminary and in 1894 was ordained a priest at the Trinity Church in the village of Zimenki. Father Michael served for forty-four years in the Trinity Church, guiding the parishioners and defending the religious foundations of life from the godless.
In 1929, he was sentenced to three years of imprisonment for failing to fulfill a task, but the sentence was replaced with a fine. In 1930-1931, he was fined again, and then sentenced to three years of exile, but the sentence was canceled. In the 1930s, due to the mass destruction of clergy, Fr. Michael urged the population to protect the church from closure and not to allow the godless to destroy religious rites.
On March 2, 1938, Fr. Michael was arrested. During the interrogation, he denied any anti-Soviet activity, emphasizing that he did not call the people to rebellion. On March 7, 1938, the NKVD troika sentenced him to execution. Father Michael Bukrinsky was shot on March 14, 1938, and buried in an unmarked grave at the Butovo shooting range near Moscow.
