Venerable Martyr
Ηegumen / Abbot
Ηegumen / Abbot
Saint Michael, along with the monks, labored in the monastery of Zovia near Sebastia during the reign of Constantine VI and Irene. The Agharian emir Alim attacked the land and captured them. Strengthened by the power of Christ, they did not renounce Christ, despite the entreaties of the unbelievers. Saint Michael, the abbot, standing in the midst of the monks, urged them to die for Christ. All of them, bowing their heads, were beheaded by the sword, including Saint Michael.
