Hieromartyr Mikhail Georgievich Vologodsky was born on October 1, 1888, into the family of a priest of the church in the village of Chervyanskoye, Yenisei District. In 1911 he graduated from the Krasnoyarsk Theological Seminary. On August 18 of the same year, he was appointed to the Church of the Archangel Gabriel in the village of Vershino-Rybinskoye, Kansk District. Until February 23, 1916, he served as dean of the churches of the 3rd deanery district of Kansk County. On March 11, 1916, he was transferred to the St. Nicholas Church in the village of Aginskoye, Kansk District.
On October 14, 1920, after the Divine Service, as he was leaving the church, he was seized by representatives of the Soviet authorities and taken outside the village, where he was subjected to terrible tortures and shot.
He was numbered among the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in August 2000 at the Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Days of commemoration: October 14 (October 1 according to the Old Style), in the Synaxis of the Saints of the Krasnoyarsk Metropolis and in the Synaxis of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church.
