Saint Michael was born on May 6, 1873, in the village of Stara Sityna, Belopesotskaya volost, Serpukhov district, Moscow province. In 1895, he graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary. From 1906, he served as a priest in the Trinity-Odigitrievskaya Zosimova Hermitage. In 1930, he was transferred to the village of Lisintsevo, where he served in the Znamenskaya Church.
On May 22, 1931, he was arrested along with five sisters of the Zosimova Hermitage. Witnesses indicated his anti-collective farm agitation, which led to accusations of anti-Soviet agitation. On May 25, 1931, the troika of the OGPU sentenced him to exile in Kazakhstan for five years. Priest Michael passed away in exile on May 31, 1932, and was buried in an unmarked grave.
