Saint Michael was born in 1874 in the village of Kiskino, Mikhnevskaya volost, Serpukhov district of Moscow province. He received his education at home, then passed the exam to become a psalmist at the church school. In 1905, he was appointed as a psalmist at the Pokrov Church in the village of Avdulovo. On May 27, 1907, he was ordained a deacon, and on February 2, 1920, he was ordained a priest at the Pokrov Church. From September 23, 1916, to September 1, 1917, he served in the military. In 1933, he was ordained a priest at the Pokrov Church, but that same year he was arrested and sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment, although he was acquitted after an appeal. Father Michael's family consisted of his wife, son, and two daughters, and their home provided shelter for all in need. On December 5, 1937, he was arrested and imprisoned in Kashirskaya prison, not admitting his guilt. On December 9, 1937, he was sentenced to death and executed on December 19, being buried in an unknown common grave at the Butovo shooting range near Moscow.
