Saint Michael Konstantinovich Tverdosky was given a good sign in 1881 in Saratov. On September 8, 1937, he was arrested in the village of Zagorodye, Maksatikhinsky district of the Kalinin region on charges of 'anti-Soviet agitation.' On October 15, 1937, the troika of the NKVD of the Kalinin region sentenced him to the highest measure of punishment, and on October 17, he was executed by shooting. In 2000, he was canonized as a saint by the Archierarchical Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
