Presbyter
He was born in 1891 in the village of Machkas, Kuznetsk district of the Penza province, in the family of a peasant, Maxim Pyataev. After finishing the village school, he studied in Moscow, then moved to Saratov, where he taught Russian language and literature. He met his future wife, Yevfrosiniya Frolovna, who came from a merchant family. In 1917, he became a psalmist at the Cross Exaltation Cathedral in the city of Omsk, wishing to be ordained a priest later. In 1918, during the Civil War, he was ordained a deacon by Archbishop Silvester (Olshensky). He served in Omsk until 1921, then was transferred to the Epiphany Church in the village of Malokrasnoyarka, where he showed care for the poor, performing sacraments for free and helping those in need. In 1923, he was ordained a priest. In 1928, a second priest, Father Ioann Kuminov, was assigned to him. At the beginning of 1930, persecutions against the church began, and priests became targets of repression. Father Mikhail, despite the threats, continued to serve and care for his flock. In February 1930, he was arrested along with Father Ioann, tortured, and accused of counter-revolutionary activities. On February 21, they were sentenced to death, which was carried out on February 28, 1930. Both priests were buried in an unmarked grave in the city of Kainsk.
