Presbyter
The holy martyr was born on November 1, 1883, in the village of Sergino, Staritsky district of Tver province, in the family of a church servant. He completed two classes of the Staritsky spiritual school; on February 12, 1908, he was ordained as a deacon, and then as a priest, serving in the villages of the Tver diocese.
In 1929, the GPU began a campaign against peasantry and the Orthodox Church. On February 10, 1930, he was arrested and sentenced to imprisonment in a corrective labor camp. On October 25, 1932, he was released and returned to the Tver diocese. In 1934, he received a position as a priest in the church in the village of Degunino.
On November 15, 1937, he was arrested and imprisoned in the Rzhev prison. The investigation lasted three days, and the accusatory materials were absent. The investigator demanded confessions of anti-state activities, but he did not admit his guilt.
On November 25, he was sentenced to execution and was shot on November 27, 1937.
