During the interrogation, he denied involvement in any insurgent organization or counter-revolutionary propaganda. On October 15, the NKVD troika sentenced him to eight years of imprisonment in a labor camp. On October 23, 1937, the priest arrived at Kolyma, where he passed away on March 7, 1938, and was buried in an unmarked grave.
