Presbyter
Father Mikhail Grigoryevich Voskresensky was born in 1883 in the village of Tepy Sтан. He served in Bortsurmanah since 1910, where he was beloved by the parishioners for his kindness and piety. In 1917, persecutions against the Church began. In 1918, during the uprising against the Bolsheviks, Father Mikhail was arrested and subjected to brutal torture. He was accused of having ordered the ringing of the bell and waiting for a detachment of Kolchak. On August 27/September 9, 1918, Father Mikhail and other arrested individuals were executed. He prayed, and no bullet could strike him until one of the executioners stabbed him with a bayonet. The bodies of the slain were buried in mass graves, while Father Mikhail was buried separately. After his death, his mother wrote to the authorities in Moscow, but no response was received. Later, in 1923, another priest, Father Vladimir Karpinsky, was killed, and other priests continued to suffer for their faith during the years of persecution.
