Mavsima Sirin, presbyter
Venerable
Saint Mavsimus was a Syrian from the vicinity of the city of Kira. Having received simple upbringing, he excelled in virtues and became a spiritual leader in a village near the city. The saint had one garment, which he patched, caring for the needs of travelers and the poor, keeping the door of his dwelling open for all. He had two vessels: one with grain seeds and the other with oil, from which he shared with the needy. The Lord blessed his vessels, and they did not run dry, as in the case of the widow from Zarephath. Having lived piously until old age, the saint peacefully departed to the Lord.
