Martyr Mavra Vasilyevna Moiseeva was born in 1875 in the village of Shaly, Temnikovsky district of Tambov province. Before the revolution of 1917, she lived in a prosperous family and had a middle-class household. In 1937, after the renovation of the church in the village of Shadyma, Mavra Vasilyevna was arrested on charges of participating in a religious counter-revolutionary organization. During the interrogations, she stated that faith in God is not a crime. On August 5, 1937, the troika of the NKVD sentenced her to execution, which was carried out on August 10. At the jubilee Archpastoral Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, martyr Mavra Moiseeva was canonized among the ranks of saints.
