Hieromartyrs Marcellus, Bishop of Sicily, Philagrius, Bishop of Cyprus, and Pancratius, Bishop of Taoromina
Hieromartyrs
Saints Markell and Philagrius were disciples of the holy Apostle Peter. Saint Markell, living in Antioch, came to Jerusalem to see the Lord and met the Apostle Peter. After the resurrection of Christ, he was appointed as the bishop of Sicily, where he suffered martyrdom, converting many pagans to Christ. Saint Philagrius, being the bishop of Cyprus, zealously preached the faith in Christ and, having endured many sufferings, departed to the Lord.
