Saint Martyr Maria, along with her fellow novices Daria Ulybina and Daria Timagina, voluntarily chose to share the fate of the blessed Eudokia Sheikova. She came to her death calmly, knowing that they would be killed.
The Hierarchical Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, which took place from August 13 to 15, 2000, canonized the venerable martyr Maria among the assembly of the new martyrs of Russia. Her feast day is established on August 5/18. On June 5, 2001, the holy relics of martyr Maria were found. Since then, they rest in the reliquary in the Church of the Assumption of the Mother of God in the village of Suvorovo.
