Maria Zakharovna Fedina was born in the village of Goletkovo, Tambov province. Her parents, Zakhar and Pelageya, died when she was thirteen years old. After their death, she wandered between Sarov, Diveyevo, and Ardatov, living in poverty and solitude.
Maria often visited the Serafimo-Diveyevsky Monastery, where not all the nuns accepted her, but many felt an extraordinary spirit in her. She revealed people's secret sins, for which she faced hostility more than once.
The Blessed one became renowned for her humility and patience, healing the sick and predicting the future. She healed a woman with eczema by anointing her hands with oil from the lamp, and helped many in difficult times.
Among her prophecies was a prediction about the future of the monastery, which she claimed would be restored. She died on August 26/September 8, 1931, leaving behind many miracles and healings.
