Righteous Mariamne “The Apostolic Virgin”

Saint Mariamna was the sister of Saint Apostle Philip. Having taken a vow of virginity, she joined her brother and Apostle Bartholomew in their preaching of the Gospel in Lydia and Mysia. In Hierapolis of Phrygia, where they preached, the service to idols ceased, and the governor ordered them to be seized and imprisoned. Apostle Philip was crucified, while Mariamna and Bartholomew were released after a miraculous manifestation of God's wrath. After kissing the body of her martyred brother, Mariamna went to preach in Lycaonia, where she peacefully passed away, resting from her labors.
