Martyrs Maximus, Theodotus, Hesychius, and Asclepiodota of Adrianople
Martyrs
Saints Maximus, Theodotus, and Hesychius suffered for their faith in Christ in Adrianople during the persecutions under Maximian (305–311). They endured many cruel tortures. The persecutors hunged them from a tree and flayed their bodies. Afterwards, they were dragged from city to city, insulted and humiliated, until they were finally handed over to the wild beasts. Filled with the Grace of God, the holy martyrs remained unharmed, courageously accepting their martyrdom and surrendering their bodies into the hands of their tormentors.
Saint Asklepiodote was thrown violently to the ground and severely beaten. She was then hung from a tree and stoned. In the end, she received the crown of martyrdom through beheading.
