Macarius Arsen'evich Solovyov was born in 1876 in the village of Skornevo, Tver region. He chose the spiritual path and was ordained as a priest. On August 16, 1930, he was arrested in the village of Dmitrievskoye. The accusations during the trial indicated 'propaganda or agitation containing calls for the overthrow of Soviet power.' The trial lasted less than a month, and on September 10, he was sentenced to exile for 3 years. On November 13, 1937, he was arrested for the second time, and on November 27, he was sentenced to execution by the troika of the NKVD for 'anti-Soviet agitation.' On November 29, 1937, Priest Macarius Solovyov was deemed worthy of the martyr's crown.
