St. Lupus from Novae
Martyr
Saint Martyr Lupp lived during the reign of Emperor Aurelian and was a servant of a certain master. Having believed in Christ, he zealously smashed idols and drowned others in the sea. The pagans, seeing this, sought to kill him, but they began to strike each other instead. The saint, unharmed, prayed for holy baptism and received it with heavenly water. After this, he surrendered himself to be slaughtered, not yielding to the entreaties of the governor, and endured many sufferings. In the end, he was sentenced to be beheaded, giving up his soul for Christ. He was buried by the faithful with honors, and from his grave, healings of ailments occurred through the saint's prayers and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
