Luke Glubokorechensky (of Cappadocia), Abbot

Saint Luke was a native of Lycaonia. He became a monk and later served as abbot of the Monastery of the Savior near the region of Trigleia, not far from Constantinople.

The monastery's first holy abbot was Saint Basil, and the second was Saint Ignatius. Saint Luke became the third prominent figure to govern the monastery, assuming its leadership in 975. The brotherhood was renowned for its strict ascetic way of life.

The saint reposed at the end of the tenth century.
