Saint Leontius was born in January 1878 in the village of Sagrin, Grubeshovsky district of the Lublin province. In 1904, he was appointed as a psalmist in the Trinity Church, and in 1907, he was ordained as a deacon. In 1918, he was transferred to serve in the Moscow diocese. On November 25, 1937, at the request of the NKVD, he was arrested and imprisoned in Taganka prison. On December 7, 1937, he was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment in a labor camp. He passed away on January 3, 1941, in the Bamlag of the NKVD in the Amur region and was buried in an unmarked grave.
