Leonty prescient
Venerable
Saint Leontios the Athonite and Myrrhgusher was born in Argos, in the Peloponnese. He lived an ascetic life in Mount Athos, at the Dionysiou Monastery, where he spent a full sixty years. Throughout his monastic life, he never once left the monastery.
Because of his deeply virtuous life, he was deemed worthy of receiving the gifts of foresight and prophecy. Moreover, his holy relics exuded myrrh.
Saint Leontios fell asleep in peace on 16 March 1605, at the age of eighty-five.
