Blessed Hieromartyr Kuksha, one of the fathers of the Holy Pechersk Monastery, baptized the Vyatichians and enlightened many with faith. He performed numerous miracles, casting out demons, bringing rain from heaven, and drying up lakes. After enduring many sufferings, he was beheaded by the unbelievers along with his disciple.
At the same time, Blessed Pimen the Faster was striving in the Pechersk Monastery, who, pleasing God, received the gift of healing the sick and foreseeing the future. He predicted his own death two years before it occurred and, having foreseen Kuksha's beheading, proclaimed his death in the church.
Saint Pimen reposed on the same day as Kuksha and his disciple, and all three received the triple joy that God has prepared for those who love Him.
