Saint Xenophon, Founder of the Athonite Monastery of Xenophontos
Venerable
Xenophon maintained friendly relations with St. Athanasius of Athos, by whose prayer his brother Theodore was healed.
In the second half of the 10th century, he founded the Monastery of St. George, which later became known by his name, and remained its abbot until 1018. After transferring the management of the monastery to his brother Theodore, he began to lead a secluded life, awaiting the time of his departure to the Lord.
He peacefully departed between 1018 and 1035.
