Presbyter
Saint Hieromartyr Cosmas was born in the village of Rybuska in the Saratov province in 1869 into a peasant family. Having not received a theological education, he served in the Nativity of Christ Church and studied the liturgical order. After the revolution, he continued to engage in farming and served in the church. In 1928, he was ordained as a priest. In 1935, the church was closed, but he did not cease his pastoral activities, gathering parishioners at home and performing services. On October 31, 1937, he was arrested by an NKVD order. During the interrogation, he rejected all accusations. The investigation was conducted with clear violations. On November 14, he was sentenced to death for 'anti-Soviet agitation.' The sentence was carried out on November 16, 1937. The burial place remains unknown.
