Twenty-five kilometers from the city of Pskov, on a small island, lies the Ioanno-Bogoslovsky Kripetsky Monastery, founded in the 15th century by the Venerable Savva. The Venerable Cornelius, born in the village of Velikoye Selo, exhibited the gift of foresight and piety from childhood. In the monastery, he was responsible for collecting donations and demonstrated remarkable honesty, avoiding spending the funds on himself. Cornelius had the gift of prayer and healed people, including a blind girl, by washing her eyes with water from the lake. He predicted events, including his own death, and asked for forgiveness before passing away. He died on December 28, 1903, foretelling that disasters would begin in Russia after his death. His relics were found incorrupt in 1997, and since then, people have turned to him for help, receiving healing and comfort. On January 10, 2000, the solemn glorification of the Venerable Cornelius took place in the rank of locally venerated saints.
Venerable Father Cornelius, pray to God for us!
