Konstantin Alexandrovich Veretsky was born on May 21, 1874, in the village of Pyatihatki, Yekaterinoslav Province, into the family of a priest. In 1898, he graduated from the Yekaterinoslav Spiritual Seminary and from 1898 to 1911, he taught the Law of God. In November 1911, he was ordained as a priest and appointed to the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Eiskoye Ustrengthening. In 1913, he was transferred to the All Saints Church in Rostov-on-Don, where he became a beloved pastor for the parishioners.
During the Civil War, he called for peace and warned about the consequences of fratricidal war. On February 23, 1918, he was arrested by Red Army soldiers, showing courage and steadfastness. He was killed in the street, and his body was left at the place of execution.
He was buried near the All Saints Church where he served. His memory has been preserved among the people, and in May 1918, it was decided to build a memorial chapel at the site of his martyrdom. Annual memorial services are held in the church on the day of his martyr's death.
