Saint Martyr Konstantin Vasilievich Aksyonov endured great hardships and trials for his faith.

He was arrested in 1923 and sentenced to three years in a forced-labor camp. In 1929, he was arrested for a second time and sentenced to three years of exile in Shenkursk. Following his release, he continued his ministry in Mirzoyan. In 1937, he was arrested on charges of “systematically conducting anti-revolutionary propaganda” and maintaining “connections with the anti-revolutionary group of Metropolitan Joseph Petrovykh.”

He denied all charges. He was sentenced to death and executed on 22 October 1937 in Mirzoyan. In 2000, he was canonized as a saint at the Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
