Saint martyr Priest Konstantin Bogoslovsky was born in 1871 in the village of Borisoglebsk, Vologda province, in the family of a priest. He graduated from the Vologda Theological Seminary and the Kazan Theological Academy, and in 1895 he was ordained to the priesthood. He taught at the diocesan women's school in Vologda, at the theological school in Ustyuzhna, as well as at the Vologda Theological Seminary. In 1917, he participated in the All-Russian Council of the Clergy and Laity in Moscow. In 1921, he was arrested on charges of organizing an 'illegal' collection of funds for the church, sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment, but was soon released under amnesty. He continued his ministry in the city of Veliky Ustyug. The following year, he was arrested again and sentenced to 2 years of imprisonment in the Arkhangelsk concentration camp. From 1923 to 1925, he was in the Solovetsky camp, and afterwards – in exile in Arkhangelsk. After returning from exile, he served in Vologda churches and was the chairman of the Vologda Diocesan Council. He was last arrested in Vologda in July 1937. He was sentenced to death and shot on September 20, 1937, in Vologda.
