Saint Martyr Konstantin Nikolaevich Tverdyslov was born in 1881 in Gorokhovets, Vladimir Province. After graduating from the theological seminary, he served as a priest in the Holy Resurrection Church of the city of Yuriev-Polsky, where he engaged in spiritual education and assistance to those in need. In 1918, he was transferred to the Holy Kazan Cathedral in the city of Vyazniki.
In 1928, after being arrested for collecting signatures against the closure of the cathedral, he was sentenced to three years of exile in Siberia. Upon his return in 1935, he was arrested again on August 17, 1937, and sentenced to death by shooting on September 27 of the same year. On October 1, 1937, he was executed and buried in an unmarked grave at the Balino cemetery in Ivanovo.
He was canonized among the ranks of the new martyrs and confessors of Russia on October 7, 2002. Commemoration days: October 1 (September 18 according to the Julian calendar), in the Synaxis of Ivanovo Saints and in the Synaxis of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church.
