Saint Cyril, Bishop of Catania
Holy Hierarch
Bishop
Bishop
Saint Cyril was born in Antioch and was a disciple of the Apostle Peter, who appointed him as the bishop of Catania in Sicily. He piously shepherded his flock, converting the unbelievers to the faith of Christ and performing many miracles. One of the miracles was the transformation of bitter water from a spring into sweet water, which led to the conversion of a Hellenistic chief and many others. Having reached a deep old age, Saint Cyril fell asleep in the Lord and was buried with honor in Sicily, granting healing to all who approached him with faith.
