Hieromonk
Born on July 14, 1901, in Kazan to a family of a physician. In 1925, he was tonsured with the name Kiprian and ordained as a hieromonk. He served in the Kazan church in Kzyl-Orda, and was later invited to Moscow to work in the office of the Holy Synod. In 1933, he was arrested by the OGPU along with Bishop Varvara and sisters Faina and Valentina Dolganova. He was accused of establishing an illegal monastery and of having religious influence on the youth. He was sentenced to three years in a labor camp in Altai, where he endured harsh conditions and humiliations, yet maintained his meekness and love for those around him. He passed away on June 16, 1934, in the camp infirmary and was buried in the Korukchi gorge in an unmarked grave.
