Caesarius of Nazianzus, the physician
Saint
The brother of Saint Gregory the Theologian, Saint Caesarius, was a friend of Emperor Constantius and the chief physician at the court of Constantinople. In the year 368, during an earthquake in Nicaea, he was miraculously saved from the ruins. Shocked by this event, Saint Caesarius, according to the conviction of Saint Gregory, left the world and dedicated himself to the service of God. However, shortly after his baptism, he fell ill and passed away.
