Venerable Karion (Cyrion) and his son, Venerable Zachariah, of Egypt
Venerable
Blessed Karion lived in the 4th century in Egypt, leaving his family for monastic life. During a famine, his wife brought their children to the skete, and he took his son Zacharias, while giving his daughter back to her mother. Zacharias was raised in the skete, but as he grew up, he became a cause of discontent among the monks. Father and son went to the Thebaid, but there they also faced complaints. Zacharias fell into a poisonous lake, becoming like a leper. After partaking of the Holy Mysteries, he was recognized as a saint. After his father's death, Zacharias struggled alongside Blessed Moses the Murin. Finally, he passed away, and Abba Isidore proclaimed his entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven.
