Chariessa of Corinth
Martyr
The holy martyrs Leonid and the martyrs Charissa, Nika, Galina, Kalisa (Kalida), Nunechia, Vasilissa, and Theodora suffered in Corinth in the year 258. They were thrown into the sea, but they did not drown; instead, they walked on the water as if on dry land, singing spiritual hymns. Their tormentors caught up with them on a ship, hung stones around their necks, and drowned them.
