Martyr Justus at Rome
Martyr
Saint Justus was a soldier, born in Rome.
In one of the battles, the army achieved victory thanks to the courage and self-sacrifice of the Christian soldiers. Their virtues aroused the saint’s curiosity, so that he wished to learn more about their faith. However, he hesitated to become a Christian himself, having been raised according to the principles of paganism.
One night, while gazing at the sky, he saw the symbol of the Cross. Thus he came to believe in the true God, distributed all his possessions to the poor, and got baptized.
Saint Justus was arrested and subjected to terrible tortures. Finally, he was thrown into the fire, where he surrendered his spirit, while his body remained unharmed by the flames.
