The great servant of God, Isikhiy, was raised in virtue from a young age, left his native city of Adrapa, and withdrew to the desert near Adrania. He chose Mount Maionis for his life, where, despite the threats of demons, he continued his path, built a cell, and began to strive in ascetic labors.
The saint arranged a garden and, praying to God, drove away the birds that were destroying his labors. He also built a church in the name of Saint Apostle Andrew, where he stayed with his disciples. He healed a possessed girl and prophesied that a monastery of holy women ascetics would be established in that place.
Once, seeing a man with a fallen ox, the saint, stroking it, commanded it to rise, and the ox stood up. Isikhiy continued to deepen in virtues, became a companion of Angels, and learned about his death thirty days before his passing. He called his disciples, instructed them, and, joyfully surrendering his spirit into the hands of God, departed to the heavenly abodes.
His body was buried in the church of Saint Apostle Andrew, and later it was transferred to the city of Amasea by Bishop Theophilact. On the site of his labors, a women's monastery was built, as the saint had prophesied.
