Martyr Irenarchus and Seven Women Martyrs at Sebaste
Martyr
Saint Martyr Irinarh was from the city of Sebastia. In his youth, he was an executioner during the tortures of the holy martyrs. During the torment of the seven holy women by the governor Maximian, under Diocletian, Saint Irinarh was enlightened by the grace of God: seeing the women tortured for Christ and shaming the torturer, he boldly confessed Christ and declared himself a Christian. Then, by the order of the governor, he was thrown into a swamp, from which he emerged unharmed, and then into a fiery furnace, but it also caused him no harm. After this, he was beheaded with a sword in the year 303.
