Saint Joseph Analytin was a strict ascetic who, through his spiritual struggle, attained a very high level of holiness. When he prayed, fiery flames would often spring up around him, enveloping his body in light. He foretold the day of his death.
He reposed peacefully in the 4th century, shortly before the massacre of the Fathers of Sinai.
