Bishop
A clergyman born in 1874 in the Poltava province, he came from a princely family and was a descendant of Saint Ioasaph of Belgorod. After graduating from university, he served in the government until 1917. In 1924, he was arrested in Kyiv and spent 7 months in prison. After his release, he went to the Zverinets Monastery, where he took monastic vows under the name Ioasaph. In 1926, he was ordained as a bishop and began his ministry as a vicar of the Kursk diocese. In the same year, he was arrested again and sent to the Solovetsky camp, where he spent 3 years, then served his sentence in the Naryn region. From 1934, he occupied the Mogilev see, but two years later he was retired to Belgorod. He was arrested for the last time and sentenced to death, which was carried out on December 4, 1937, in Kursk.
