Saint John, who was born on March 8, 1868, in the village of Vladykino, was destined to serve in various churches. He graduated from the Belozersk Spiritual School in 1882 and became a psalmist in the Trinity Church. In 1898, he moved to the Turkestan Diocese, where he served in the Protection Church and then in the George Church. In 1903, he was ordained a priest and appointed as the law teacher of the parish school. In 1923, he was shot by godless Bolsheviks in Taldy-Kurgan and was buried in an unmarked grave.
