Born in 1881 in the village of Ostanikino, Timsky district, Kursk province. Higher education – historian. Served in the North Caucasus region, in the city of Yessentuki. Arrested in 1933, sentenced to eight years of imprisonment. He served his sentence in Karlag. In 1937, he was arrested in the camp for 'counter-revolutionary agitation among the prisoners, aimed at discrediting the policies of the Soviet government.' He openly expressed his beliefs, stating that deliverance from Soviet power would come from Hitler. Executed on November 2, 1937. Canonized on August 20, 2000, by the Archdiocesan Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
