John of the Caves, ascetic

Saint John of Pechersk, a strict ascetic, labored in the Kiev-Pechersk Monastery in the 12th century. He was known for his rigorous asceticism and devotion to God. After the end of his earthly life, he was buried in the Near Caves of the monastery, where his relics became a source of grace for many believers.
