Martyr Ivan Vasilyevich Milyoshkin was born in 1902 in the village of Salazgory, Spassky district of Tambov province. From 1924 to 1926, he served in the Red Army, and in 1927 he returned to agriculture and became the chairman of the collective farm in the village of Moksha. He was first arrested in 1932 and sentenced to 1 month of corrective labor. In 1937, he was arrested for the second time on charges of participating in a religious counter-revolutionary organization. On August 5, 1937, the troika of the NKVD sentenced him to the highest measure of punishment, and on August 10, he was shot.
At the jubilee Archpastoral Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000, martyr Ioann Milyoshkin was canonized.
